15th-century Arab trader Mussa al-Bik was an influential man who set himself up as a sultan on the island of present-day Mozambique. It is believed that his name inspired the current name of the country. The Island of Mozambique was the first capital of Mozambique and then, in 1898 moved to the actual Maputo. The Island is the Country’s UNESCO World Heritage site.

Mozambique is a South-Eastern African country bordered by the Indian Ocean to the east, and Tanzania to the north, Malawi and Zambia to the northwest, Zimbabwe to the west, and Swaziland and South Africa to the South West. Its Location is thus geographically blessed. We'd like to invite you to discover what many water sport lovers and international divers already have in the warm waters of Mozambique.

It is Mozambique's "Marine Big 5" that initially draws many international tourists to the country. The warm coastal waters boast resident Manta Rays, several species of dolphins, whale sharks, a variety of marine turtles, and is the breeding ground for Humpback whales (between July and October). The amazing and endangered Dugongs graze around the Quirimbas and Bazaruto Archipelagos, as well as in Inhambane Bay and around the Ilha de Moçambique.

But i's not just the pristine beaches and turquoise waters that attract tourists in their hundreds of thousands annually, but more, the ever present opportunity to experience something new, different and unique: From the lively and cosmopolitan capital of Maputo, to the intriguing World Heritage Site of Mozambique Island, the African wildlife of Gorongosa and Limpopo National Parks to the ultra-exclusive Bazaruto Archipelago. These are just a few examples of the unique experiences that only Mozambique can offer.

Although marine sports and diving are, by far, the most popular leisure activity pursued by visitors and locals alike, there is a diversity of activities to choose from; hiking, climbing, bird watching and horse-back riding on the beach, shopping at the local markets, or visiting a local village, are just a few examples. The choice of both types and quality of accommodation in Mozambique is huge.

We can offer a broad range of well-managed resorts, hotels, self-catering, and full-board lodge establishments that are all prepared to meet the needs, budget, and travelling style of any visitor or group.

Enjoy the Mozambican style of warm and comfortable hospitality in structures that reflect he ambience and feel of this tropical African country.

We all relish the pleasure and excitement of enjoying the local cuisine of each country that we visit. Mozambique offers the most delicious dishes distilled from its fascinating and rich history. Arabic, Portuguese, Chinese, British, and Indian influences have all been integrated using indigenous ingredients and cooking methods. Although the Portuguese influence has greatly impacted the cuisine of Mozambique, such as Mandioca (a starchy root of Brazilian origin), cashew nuts (also from Brazil) and bread.

The use of spices and seasonings such as onions, garlic, sweet peppers, bay leaves, lemons, fresh coriander, paprika, cinnamon, and of course "PiriPiri" chilli peppers, with wine (also introduced by the Portuguese).

Over time, the culinary skills of the local chefs and women have developed into a unique and delicious array of stews and curries. But it's often simplicity that offers the most delicious experience. Seafood is fresh and abundant, and so grilled prawns, lobsters, calamari, and a variety of tropical fish and clams are served with just salt, a squeeze of lemon, garlic, and perhaps a dash of piripiri (hot chilli sauce).

Eating local traditional dishes, which differ slightly with location in the country, such as Matapa, will be a fulfilling experience to any visitor.

Mozambique offers an atypical African atmosphere. Just outside of the capital, Maputo, traditional village lifestyle and legendary hospitality are still very much alive. The gentle people add to the easy, relaxed tropical atmosphere of the country, so why rush? Leave stress behind, deadlines/time tables, and worries.
