Marriage Celebration

Marriages celebrated at the Embassy of Mozambique:


  1. Between Mozambicans residing in Qatar:

    • ID Card (B.I.);

    • Birth Certificate legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;

    • Criminal record from the country of residence (Qatar) for both parties.

    • Certificate of Matrimonial Capacity Request F0rm

  2. With a foreign citizen in Qatar (one of the spouses is a foreigner):

    • Copy of the foreign citizen’s passport;

    • ID Card (B.I.);

    • Certificate of matrimonial capacity:

    • Declaration of matrimonial capacity issued by the foreigner’s country of origin.



Notes:

  • Copy of ID cards and birth certificates must be legalized by the:

    • Ministry of Foreign Affairs of all parties in their country of origin, or

    • Embassy of their county in Qatar, if available, or

    • Mozambican Embassy in their country of origin;

  • All documents issued in a non-Portuguese language must be translated into Portuguese and fully legalized with all required stamps.

  •  A public notice will be published at the embassy for X period. If there is no objection, the marriage is celebrated.
